MONTHLY ART
CLASSES
We now run Art Classes on a monthly basis (a day to suit all students
concerned). At the moment we have a once a month class, but are quite
happy to hold two or more days a month to accommodate extra students.
Who can join and
what sort of art will we be doing?
Anyone interested in
art and image-making from absolute beginners to experience artists. The
aim of this class is to experiment
with a wide variety of media and learn some new and sometimes unusual
techniques.
We hope everyone will
have a fun time creating - there is no formal structure - each "student"
can work at their own pace and level of ability. What is important here is
that you can join this group having never painted a picture in your life!
We believe that anyone who is interested enough can create wonderful
images without being able to draw. It is more about having imagination and
having the confidence to explore and experiment. That is what we are here
to help you with.
This group will help
artists who have become blocked or maybe a little set in their ways - they
want to break free of old habits and try something new. It may help
release any inhibitions.
It will also help those
who used to paint, but have been away from it for a period of time. It
will awaken your talents and help develop them in new ways.
We will also be
covering some traditional drawing techniques for those that want to learn
as well as a smidgen of colour theory (but not too long and boring like it
is at art college!!)
We are flexible in our
approach - so are open to suggestions. If you want to have a go at
something, suggest it and we'll do our best to cover it.
You can come every
month or just when it suits you, providing we know - as places are limited
to four per day.
What will I need to
bring?
You will need a
sketchbook and two or three pencils and some plus your own paint brushes.
Mostly materials are
provided. We will cover on some days, how to make your own art materials.
What does it cost?
30 Euros per day
- payable on the day by cheque or cash, or you can pay in advance using
credit/debit card (please ask for details).
The group will meet
during school term times and also some days during the long summer holiday
(optional), but not during half-terms, Easter holidays or Christmas
Holidays.
Bring a packed lunch. We provide tea and coffee
refreshments.
